Kookaburra Estate Distillery Wins Major Title

The Kookaburra Estate, Bocoble has won the Flavoured Vodka Distillery of the Year title at Melbourne’s International Spirits Competition.

This is the 10th annual competition, which is also hosted in New York, Berlin and Asia. It was also a challenging year, and remarkable comeback, for Kookaburra Estate, with the distillery lost in a devastating fire in August, 2022.

In addition to Distillery of the Year, a gold medal and two silver medals were also awarded to the team, located just outside of Mudgee. Their blackberry infused vodka set the standard for excellence in infused vodkas, with a gold medal. The ever popular raspberry port, which to the best of our knowledge is the only boutique raspberry port in Australia, took out a silver medal. The newest addition to their range – a sure fire hit amongst customers – the chilli infused gin, also took out a silver medal.

Garry Richards, owner and creator of the Kookaburra Estate distillery states \"we take immense pride in the production process of our spirits, using fresh fruit over essences. Most of the product is grown on the farm, and can infuse for up to four months for depth of flavour.\"

Located in the hills of Bocoble, south west of Mudgee, Kookaburra Estate produces 35 different flavours of infused gin, vodka and liqueurs. In previous years, they have won a gold medal for their raspberry liqueur, silver medals for both their limoncello and raspberry vodka, and their honey liqueur has earned a bronze medal.
